Vitamins And Minerals - Discover Some Great Information

You hear a lot about vitamins and minerals, but do you have any idea if you are getting what you need? For the most part, you probably are. There are times when we don't however, and this lead to a very interesting theory. My mother gave me a book she read a long time ago, and it claimed that persons who do not get enough vitamins and minerals every day might get sick easier and also might walk around with abnormal cravings.

After I read the book, it made me think about a teacher I had in seventh grade. This man was your classic teacher, even if he was not very animated. Many times he would eat the chalk he had in the class room. I never considered there had to be a reason why he did it even though we thought it was funny at the time. May be it had something to do with the quantity of vitamins and minerals in his diet? I am not sure, but this book told me it was. It's an interesting theory. Our bodies do crave vitamins and minerals we aren't getting, but would it make us eat chalk?

So this might explain why you crave certain foods. That's certainly not as disgusting as eat chalk, but this might elucidate odd cravings, particularly during pregnancy. Pregnant women necessitate more vitamins and minerals than anyone else, and they need to be sure they get them. If they are not getting the vitamins and minerals for themselves as well as what they need for their growing baby, does this oblige them to ask for Italian dressing and hotdogs in the middle of the night? I am not sure.

Though the guy who wrote the book had some great points, I honestly don't know if a lack of essential vitamins and minerals might explain cravings. What I do know is that if you are dieting you deal with cravings every day, and perhaps if you make sure your intake of vitamins and minerals is what it should be might just prevent a few of those crazy urges that make you over eat. Even though it's just a theory, maybe if you make sure you take a daily vitamin it might help you to keep a lid on your cravings just in case it works. If you take up a diet plan that garanties you get the right foods each and every day, perhaps that, along with the vitamins, might give you the head start you require to stay on track. Nothing beats a balanced diet where your body gets all the important nutrients for good health. Just stay away from the chalk, ok? If you do have cravings ask yourself what you have been or maybe not have been eating lately. You will get an answer.
