How To Outfit Your Pool Hall With Game Room Accessories

By: Jerry Davis

Having a pool hall with not much in it can be pretty bland. When you have people coming to play pool, you want your pool hall to look the best. Just having pool tables, pool sticks and balls won’t cut it.

You want to have other game room accessories to complement the place. It’s important that you have the right gear in order to attract people to come and play. One of the things that you must have is lighting. There are hanging lamps, stainless glass lamps and other variety of lamps to choose from. When choosing lighting, it should be something that fits within the scope of your pool hall.

You will need a few extra cues for your guests. Since every person doesn’t have the same frame or weight, you will need to get cues in different weights. The cues will also have to be different lengths. Everyone’s reach is not equal. You can purchase some bar room cues for them. They are not costly, and you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg purchasing some that may not be used as much.

A wall rack will be needed to store your chalk and other items. As long as the cues are stored upright they will stay in a straight position for a long time. They should also be stored in an area where there is no moisture.

It’s important that everything related to pool accessories be stored in a dry area. If any of your items are exposed to moisture, they will start to warp and not last long. There are different shapes and sizes of wall racks and they are made out of wood.

You may want to invest in a wall rack that has a few shelves or drawers. Smaller accessories such as chalk will need to be stored away when not in use. For triangle and diamond racks, install hooks to hang them on.

Another option is to get a floor model pool rack if you don’t’ want one on the wall. Floor racks also have shelves and drawers where smaller accessories can be stored. The downside to this is that floor racks require more room than wall racks.

Floor racks are mainly used for bar rooms. They also are made to hold more cues than wall racks. Because they have several pool tables, there are usually up to 30 cues stored at one time.

Look at getting a wall clock to enhance the décor. If you have room, you can have a drink rail or a full rail installed. Don’t forget about the bar stools for people to sit. Setting up your pool hall can be a lot of fun. Your place can be looking stylish in no time flat. As long as it can attract people, you won’t have a shortage of people coming to play pool.
